Professor Akiko Hashimoto’s Book, The Long Defeat, was released to American audiences in 2015. It has been translated into Japanese and received critical acclaim and recognition around around the globe. In 2019, Chinese publishers approached the author and asked for a Chinese translation of the book and that’s where GMS Media and Advertising came into the picture. Our video production company created the video collateral required by the chinese publishers in order to create the marketing materials for the asian market.
Our project started with interviews and research – truly understanding what Dr. Hashimoto’s goal had been in writing the book and conveying her connection to that period in history. The post production process focused on sourcing the appropriate still photography to accompany our video.
